Dr. Shaw has been serving the Wichita area since finishing optometry school in 2003, providing comprehensive care and managing ocular disease. He takes a special interest in pediatric eye care and myopia management. His thorough, relaxed chair side manner sets Dr. Shaw apart from many.
After graduating with honors from Missouri State University in 1999, Dr. Shaw attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2003. Since graduation Dr. Shaw’s continued education and training has resulted in his special interest in myopia control, providing a much needed service of slowing progressively worsening nearsightedness in children.
In 2012 Dr. Shaw received his board certification as Diplomat, American Board of Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Kansas Optometric Association and the American Association of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control.
Dr. Shaw grew up in Southeast Kansas. He and his wife Kris have three children and three dogs (to fill any otherwise peaceful moments around the house). He enjoys jogging, cycling and anything that involves being outdoors with the kids. He has also become a somewhat proficient builder with Legos and Minecraft blocks.
